Ahead of Christmas, Suceava’s Orthodox Youth Association (ATOS) carried out a new edition of its campaign titled “We care! We stand by you! God is with us!” in the localities on the border between Romania and Ukraine.
At this year’s edition, 30 families from Mușenita commune, including the villages of Climăuți, Baineț, Vicșani, Băncești and Vășcăuți, benefited from non-perishable food packages.
“Besides the gifts, the young people sang Christmas carols and announced the Nativity of the Lord to these big-hearted people. We all felt their tears as a prayer that someone stepped on the threshold of their house, sang a Christmas carol to them and spoke to them”, noted Fr. Justinian-Remus Cojocar, founder of the ATOS Association.
“A particularly emotional moment was the reunion with Mrs Geanina and the three children who live today in a new house with a kitchen and a bathroom. If you remember, following our call, a great man, Ciprian, and other hearty people did this miracle for the family”.
The aid campaign was initiated in 2020.
