Filming for a new television series dedicated to the life of Saint Joseph the Hesychast is set to begin shortly after Easter.
Pemptousia FM, the online radio station of Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos, announced the news on Wednesday. Journalist Maria Giachnaki said the series would explore lesser-known aspects of the saint’s life.
“It will be a very special series as it will concern the life of St. Joseph the Hesychast, this great ascetic, and I think that through this series we’ll see and experience moments which we can’t imagine exist, and real events will be revealed to us which will offer our souls tranquility, peace,” she said.
The series aims to highlight the ascetic and spiritual dimension of Saint Joseph the Hesychast’s life, one of the most significant ascetics of the Holy Mountain of Mount Athos in the 20th century.
