The Basilica News Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate has received congratulations from Agerpres, Romania’s National News Agency, on its 17th anniversary. In a message from Director General Claudia–Victoria Nicolae, Basilica.ro is complimented for conveying “not just information, but also its deeper meaning.”
“Over all these years, Basilica.ro has become a respected voice in the Romanian media landscape, consistently promoting dialogue, faith, culture, and social involvement,” reads the message addressed to Archdeacon Nicolae Iftimiu, Director of Basilica.ro.
“The professionalism and balance shown in covering religious and social events bring to the public’s attention not just the information, but its profound meaning, demonstrating that ‘The Good to know’ is an authentic mission, not just a slogan,” wrote Claudia–Victoria Nicolae.
In this way, the Agerpres Director believes, Basilica.ro contributes “to a better understanding of the Church’s role in contemporary society.”
“AGERPRES values the trust-based partnership built over time and expresses its openness to continuing a fruitful collaboration in the service of the common good and of truth. We wish you continued success, inspiration, and strength in the noble work you carry out,” Claudia–Victoria Nicolae concluded.
Founded on October 27, 2007, together with the Basilica Media Centre, the Romanian Patriarchate’s news agency began operating the following year and published its first article on June 16, 2008.
