Romanian Patriarchate urges prayer for drought relief

In the worrying context created by the drought that massively affects agriculture and other fields of activity, the Romanian Patriarchate addresses a fatherly appeal to all its dioceses, on whose territories the drought persists, to officiate the prayers that are said insistently “in times of drought.”

These special prayers are read in churches or the fields so that God may send a quiet rain for the excellent fruitfulness of the earth.

It is, therefore, indispensable that in such circumstances, we ask God’s help through fervent prayer, for God “causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:45).
