New contributions to humanitarian aid offered by the Romanian Patriarchate during the pandemic

The Romanian Patriarchate has continued the extensive charitable campaign dedicated to those affected by the pandemic, offering concrete and diversified help through parishes and dioceses, especially to the elderly and poor, to the ill and those with disabilities, to those who are temporarily isolated or in quarantine.

The diocesan centers, deaneries, parishes and monasteries of the Romanian Orthodox Church offered financial and material aid in value of 470,000 Euros (2,278,396 Lei) between April 20 and 27, 2020.

The concrete help offered throughout the Patriarchate, which has exceeded 3 million Euros (14,876,474 Lei), reflects the Christian realism, solidarity and generosity manifested by the Romanian Orthodox Church’s clergy and faithful. Our church remains the most efficiently involved institution in Romania’s philanthropy.
