Romanian parish in Spain given relics of St. John Maximovitch

An Orthodox parish serving the suburbs of Madrid has been blessed with a piece of the relics of its patron saint.

On Sunday, March 8, a fragment of the relics of the great St. John (Maximovitch) were gifted to the Romanian Church of St. John in Las Rozas of Madrid and Majadahonda.

The precious gift was brought by His Grace Bishop Timothy of Spain and Portugal, who served an Akathist to St. John in the parish during his visit. Photo credit: The Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Spain and Portugal.

In return, the rector Fr. Nicodim Moldovan gave Bp. Timothy an icon of St. John.

The parish was established in 2016.
