A new Romanian Orthodox mission has been established in northern France, with the blessing of Metropolitan Iosif of Western and Southern Europe, to serve Romanian communities in Beauvais, Compiègne and Creil.

Liturgical services will take place at Saint-Martin Church in Lamécourt, near Clermont-de-l’Oise, at Place de l’Église, 60600 Lamécourt.

The first Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday, 18 October 2026.

Several other Romanian Orthodox parishes belonging to the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe already serve communities in northern France, including those in Lille–Roubaix, Amiens, Rouen, Le Havre, Caen and Reims.

In Brittany and western Normandy, Romanian Orthodox communities, parishes and dependent chapels are also present in Cherbourg, Alençon, Brest, Morlaix, Lamballe, Loudéac and Rennes.

The Metropolis’s official website lists all Romanian Orthodox parishes in France.
