This Christmas brought a remarkable gift to Romanians in Faenza, Italy: the Roman Catholic Diocese of Faenza-Modigliana donated the historic San Rocco Church to the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Italy for use by the local Romanian parish.
The donation agreement was signed on December 18 by His Grace Bishop Siluan of Italy and Monsignor Mario Toso, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Faenza-Modigliana.
The event was attended by Father Vasile Jora, Dean of Emilia Romagna II, and Father Alexandru Stavrică, the Romanian Orthodox parish priest in Faenza.
The San Rocco Church had been entrusted to the Romanian community since 2012 under a loan-for-use agreement.

The Romanian Orthodox Parish in Faenza, dedicated to Saint John the Russian, was also established in 2012.
San Rocco Church, documented since the 16th century, is located at Chiesa di San Rocco, Piazza San Rocco, Faenza.
