Radio Trinitas celebrates its silver jubilee: A radio of prayer, hope and dialogue, according to Patriarch Daniel

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel congratulated the Romanian Patriarchate’s Radio station on its silver jubilee on April 17.

In his message, Patriarch Daniel said that Radio Trinitas is a radio of prayer, hope and dialogue.

Trinitas – for 25 years, a radio for the soul

April 17, 1998, was the day when Romania’s first Orthodox radio station began broadcasting 25 years ago.

The initial frequency of Radio Trinitas was 97.2 MHz in the city of Iasi. The first transmission was the Good Friday Lamentations service from the Cathedral of the Metropolis of Moldavia and Bukovina.

We now look towards that day with gratitude to God because transmitting the Word of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ via radio waves has produced fruit over time.

Twenty-five years after its first broadcast, Trinitas is the radio station of the Romanian Patriarchate with national coverage, 24 hours a day, through 56 terrestrial frequencies, with local studios in Iași, Sibiu, Craiova and Timișoara, with religious, cultural, educational and social programmes, with national and international news and information.

Today, Radio Trinitas is sought after and appreciated because it is a radio of prayer, hope and dialogue.

Trinitas is a radio of prayer, as it broadcasts the Divine Liturgy and Vespers daily, as well as the evening and morning prayers. All these, together with the special services during the great feast days, are an extension of the Church’s prayers at home, at work, in the car, and wherever there are people who want to pray more intensively, do not know, or cannot pray.

Trinitas is a radio of hope for all who hear and listen to the Word of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It allows us to confess our faith wherever we are and teaches us that our place in the world is also the space where we can respond to God’s call to us to be the hands of His work in the world. Specialists, professors, lovers of culture and beauty, skilled and hardworking people are invited to the radio station of the Romanian Patriarchate, offering their testimony about our identity and hope as a Christian people.

Trinitas is a radio of the Church’s dialogue with society. It expresses the Church’s freedom to address the whole world, proclaims the Truth, and works in society, through people and for people.

On this festive occasion, we are grateful for all the valuable information and all the good words that Radio Trinitas had the opportunity to transmit during its 25 years of broadcasting.

We give thanks to the Most Holy Trinity, whose name the radio of the Romanian Patriarchate bears, for everything that Trinitas is today: a word of prayer, a message of hope and people in dialogue.

We thank the hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church who show co-responsibility and support this mission.

We thank the listeners who value kind words and deeds of merciful love.

We pray to the Most Holy Trinity to bless all the workers and supporters of Trinitas radio station for many happy years!
