On Monday, November 4, 2024, His Grace Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop Varlaam of Ploiești, Secretary of the Holy Synod, welcomed His Excellency Mr. Rami Teplitskiy, Deputy Ambassador of the State of Israel to Bucharest, at the Patriarchal Palace.
Bishop Varlaam of Ploiești extended a warm welcome to the Israeli Deputy Ambassador at the Romanian Patriarchate, noting the longstanding and strong friendship between Romania and Israel.
In turn, the Deputy Ambassador expressed his pleasure in visiting the Romanian Patriarchate and emphasized the importance of the pilgrimages organized by the Romanian Orthodox Church to the Holy Land, facilitated through the Basilica Travel Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate.
His Excellency also highlighted that one of his priorities at the embassy is to encourage religious tourism from Israel to Romania, mainly to visit Romania’s monasteries and churches.
At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed hope for a swift end to the conflict in the Holy Land and for a just and lasting peace to be restored.
