Patriarch Porfirije meets Romanian Ambassador to Serbia

On the 14th of April 2021, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received Mrs. Silvia Davidoiu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Serbia, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade.

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, welcoming the Romanian ambassador, mentioned the fraternal relations existing between the two Orthodox Churches and expressed His hope that he will have the opportunity to visit Romania and meet His Beatitude Daniel, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Romanian Ambassador to Serbia renewed the sincere congratulations send by the Romanian Patriarch on the occasion of the enthronement as Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church and thanked once again for the support offered by His Beatitude in his previous position as Bishop of Zagreb and Ljubljana to the establishment of a Romanian orthodox church in Zagreb.

On this occasion, it has been mentioned the fact that the Romanian part is opened for a brotherly dialogue between the two orthodox churches and it has been expressed the hope that the visit of the Serbian Patriarch to Bucharest will open a new chapter in the bilateral relations.
