Patriarch Daniel thanks God for divine help on his 33rd anniversary of episcopal ordination

The patriarchal auxiliary bishop Varlaam of Ploiesti congratulated His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel on the 33rd anniversary of his ordination to the episcopacy at the end of the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest on the Sunday of Orthodoxy.

“On this day, we especially honour our spiritual father because 33 years ago, on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, he received the grace of ordination to the episcopacy, a grace that he showed as a worker like no other for 33 years both as Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bukovina and as Patriarch of Romania.”

“Today is an occasion that we feel obliged to convey to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel a word of appreciation and gratitude for the day and night effort he shows in promoting, preaching and defending Holy Orthodoxy.”

“The exceptional work that expresses the passion, devotion and zeal of the Patriarch for this Sunday of the holy icons is this work that has been going on for several years, namely, the decoration of the National Cathedral with mosaic iconography.”

“Today allows us to wish him power and zeal to finish as quickly as possible the decoration of the National Cathedral with iconography that will make this holy church a first-class monument in the entire Orthodox world.”

The Patriarch of Romania received a bouquet from the clergy of the Patriarchal Cathedral and thanked them for their wishes and the help received from God.

“Thank you very much for this beautiful and condensed word and for these many beautiful flowers that represent this community of people in prayer, clergy and people – the bouquet of flowers of faith.”

“We thank God for his help and to all those through whom God works and gives us the joy of communion, for the glory of the Most Holy Trinity and the benefit of the Church,” the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church said on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
