His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel has expressed his deep sorrow for the tragedy that took place on Sunday in a nightclub fire in the North Macedonian town of Kocani.
In his message to Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid, Skopje and North Macedonia, the Parriarch of Romania expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and offered his prayers for a quick recovery of those injured.

With deep sorrow, we have learned of the tragic event that took place on the morning of Sunday, 16 March 2025, in the city of Kočani, North Macedonia, in which more than 50 people lost their lives and another 100 were injured.
In these moments of grief for the people of North Macedonia, we pray to the Most-Compassionate God to rest in His peace and love the souls of those who perished in this tragic event, to grant swift recovery to the injured ones, and to bring comfort to the bereaved families in the light of Christ’s Resurrection.
