Patriarch Daniel casts vote in EU elections and national referendum

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel on Sunday cast his vote in the European elections and a national referendum at his local polling station at Ienachita Vacarescu School in Bucharest.

After voting, the Patriarch offered prayer cards to those present at the polling station.

Romanians cast their votes in the EU elections on Sunday, May 26, as well as in a referendum for justice organized at the request of the President of Romania.

The European Parliament (EP) is the only parliamentary institution of the European Union (EU) that is directly elected by EU citizens aged 18 or older.

Together with the European Commission and the Council of the European Union (‘the Council’, which should not be confused with the European Council and the non-EU Council of Europe organisation) it exercises the tripartite legislative function of the European Union.
