Oslo: 55-year-old Norwegian baptized Orthodox by Romanian Bishop Macarie of Northern Europe

55-year-old Norwegian Toma and child Matias are the newest members of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Northern Europe. Romanian Orthodox Bishop Macarie baptized them on July 30.

The Holy Sacrament was officiated in the Oslo Chapel of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Northern Europe.

“I rejoice when I dress people into Christ – be they children or adults. Joy seems even greater when we bring to Christ adults who lived far away from Him,” Bishop Macarie said.

“I am so glad. I feel well and peaceful in Christ,” declared Toma, the new member of the Orthodox Church, for Trinitas TV, the television channel of the Romanian Patriarchate.

The number of adult baptisms is increasing on the Scandinavian Peninsula. Last year, the Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Northern Europe baptized nine adults of various nationalities.
