The Archdiocese of Craiova is preparing for the International Meeting of Orthodox Youth (ITO2019) that will take place this autumn and will gather young people from all across the world urging for ‘faith, hope, and love.’
The organizing committee said that Craiova will become ‘the capital city of Orthodox Youth’ on September 5-8, 2019.
The motto of this year’s edition will be ‘We are all one Chalice! Faith, hope, and love,’ pointing to the importance of a Eucharistic Christian life.
‘Preparations for this important event are in full swing,’ a representative of the Archdiocese said, adding that all steps are ‘carefully supervised by His Eminence Metropolitan Irineu.’
A new website will be launched this spring, which will include the program and other details regarding the ITO2019 Meeting.
The official invitation letters will be sent to the Romanian Patriarchate’s dioceses as well as to the Autocephalous Orthodox Churches on February 18, 2019, the Archdiocese’s representative said.
The previous editions of the International Meeting of Orthodox Youth took place in Baia Mare (2014), Cluj (2015), Bucharest (2016), Iasi (2017), and Sibiu (2018).
