Numismatic issues dedicated to 100 years since the end of World War I

On 29 May 2018, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a gold coin dedicated to 100 years since the end of World War I.

The coin has the following characteristics:

Obverse: the commemorative cross of Romanian heroes of World War I on Caraiman Peak, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “100 LEI”, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2018”.

Reverse: the scene of King Ferdinand I and Queen Maria riding into Bucharest; the inscriptions “100 DE ANI DE LA INCHEIEREA PRIMULUI RAZBOI MONDIAL” and “1918”.

The gold coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The mintage of this issue is 250 gold coins.

The selling price is lei 1,705.00, VAT excluded, per gold coin, including the leaflet.

The gold coins dedicated to 100 years since the end of World War I are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The gold coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași and Timișoara.
