Newly-elected Greek Metropolitan of New Zealand enthroned at Wellington Annunciation Cathedral

His Eminence Myron Ktistakis, the newly elected Greek Metropolitan of New Zealand, was enthroned Saturday, September 22, at the Annunciation Orthodox Cathedral in Wellington, Ekklisia Online reports.

The Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate during its working session in May 2018 elected the Very Rev. Archimandrite Myron Ktistakis as head of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Zealand following the appointment of His Eminence Amphilochios Tsoukos as Metropolitan of Ganos and Chora.

Archimandrite Myron was ordained to the Episcopate by His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the St George Patriarchal Cathedral in Constantinople in July.

The enthronement ceremony at Wellington was attended by Metropolitan Gerasimos of Petra and Cherronisos, the Ecumenical Patriarch’s delegate, and Bishop Nikandros of Dorileou, the representative of the Greek Archbishop Stylianos of Australia, chairman of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of Australia and Oceania.
