New Romanian priest installed at St. Demetrios Parish in Brisbane

On Sunday, July 28, His Grace Bishop Mihail, the Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Australia and New Zealand, presided over the installation ceremony of Father Mihai Suciu, the new parish priest of St. Demetrios Parish in Brisbane.

Father Mihai Suciu, who was ordained earlier this year, comes to the Brisbane community from New Zealand and brings a fresh perspective to the parish.

During the installation ceremony, Bishop Mihail expressed his gratitude to Father Ion Constantinescu, the former parish priest, for his three decades of dedicated ministry and significant efforts in constructing the parish church.

The Romanian Orthodox Parish in Brisbane is located in Riverview, a charming suburb approximately 30 kilometres from the city centre.

The church holds a unique relic: a vestment that once covered the revered relics of St. Demetrios the New at the Patriarchal Cathedral, gifted to the community in 2006 by the late Patriarch Teoctist.
