The Monastery of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Mono, Ontario, Canada, took another step forward on Tuesday towards the construction of its church, refectory, and monastic cells, as the topographical survey of the building site was completed.
“We are now entering a new phase of this project, which, with God’s help and the blessing of His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian of Canada, will continue in the months ahead,” said Fr Protosyncellus Polycarp Athenagoras, the monastery’s abbot.
“We humbly ask you to keep this work in your prayers and, if you are able, to support it with a sacrificial gift—large or small, according to your means—so that this monastery may be built for the glory of God and for the spiritual benefit of future generations.”
The abbot expressed his gratitude to all the pilgrims, benefactors and volunteers who continue to support the monastic community.
The monastery’s second patron saint is St Ephraim the New. The monastery is located at 308328 Hockley Rd., Mono, Orangeville, Ontario L9W 6N4, Canada.
