Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Nicolae and Father Mihail Balan, parish priest of the Romanian community in Las Vegas, have recently been awarded formal recognition by the Nevada state and the officials of Las Vegas city.

One of the recognition certificates came from the office of Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, handed over by Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony.

The awards were given on the 29th anniversary of “St George” and “St Demetrius” Romanian Orthodox Parish. The community organised a festive event in its social hall for this occasion.

The Las Vegas Romanian Orthodox Parish owns a place of worship built in 2009. His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, contributed with the iconostasis and the altar furniture.
