Metropolitan Teofan meets Israeli Deputy Ambassador in Iași

His Eminence Metropolitan Teofan of Moldavia and Bukovina met last week in Iași with His Excellency Rami Teplitskiy, Deputy Ambassador of Israel to Romania.

The discussions emphasized the importance of cooperation between Romania and Israel, highlighting the historical and cultural ties that unite the two nations. Topics of mutual interest were explored, particularly the role of faith in fostering stronger bonds between peoples.

Following the meeting, Deputy Ambassador Teplitskiy visited the Metropolitan Cathedral in Iași, expressing admiration for the sacred site. “The cathedral’s beauty and the relics of St. Parascheva were truly inspiring,” he shared on social media.

Earlier in November, the Deputy Ambassador visited the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, where he was welcomed by His Grace Bishop Varlaam of Ploiești, Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop and Secretary of the Holy Synod.

During his official visit to Iași on November 25, Rami Teplitskiy also held discussions with various local officials, including Mihai Chirica, Mayor of Iași.
