Metropolitan Synod at the Patriarchal Residence

Monday, 30 September 2013, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church chaired the Metropolitan Synod of Muntenia and Dobrudgea. The meeting was held at the Patriarchal Residence of Bucharest.

To start with, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel mentioned among the points included in the daily agenda, the setting up of a coordinating committee for drafting the general album on the foundations of Saint Prince Constantine Brancoveanu: “The year 2014 is a commemorative year of the Saints Martyrs Brancoveans too”. This album is the result of the decision of the Metropolitan Synod of 20 May 2013 to draft the general album of the foundations of Saint Constantine Brancoveanu in Wallachia. We thought that all of them should be included in only one volume because the Metropolitanate and Dobrudgea and the Metropolitanate of Oltenia make up Wallachia. The same as we had a big volume of the princes and hierarchs of Wallachia, so should we have a general album of the foundations of Saint Constantine Brancoveanu in Wallachia”.

According to Trinitas Radio station, two other subjects included in the agenda of the session were: the drafting of the text of the religious service of Saint John Casian and Gherman from Dobrudgea and the presentation of the financial reports of the Metropolitanate’s eparchies.
