His Eminence Metropolitan Petru sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Patriarch Daniel’s name day, emphasizing that on the feast of the Holy Prophet Daniel, “all the clergy and faithful people of Bessarabia turn their hearts and minds, filled with gratitude and love,” towards His Beatitude.
“We, together with all the servants of the holy altars and the faithful Christians of the Metropolis of Bessarabia, thank you for your care, tireless prayer, and sacrificial efforts made to strengthen, protect, and flourish the Romanian Orthodox Church in Bessarabia. Your fatherly love, like the burning bush of the prophet Moses, burns without being consumed, bringing knowledge to those who seek the truth and hope to those who are tested,” wrote His Eminence Metropolitan Petru.
“Through the holy prayers that you continually raise for the unity of Christ’s Church and the profit of the entire Romanian nation, you are not only the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church to us, but also a spiritual father, a strong support, and a comfort in our sorrows,” His Eminence continued.
The Metropolitan described the Patriarch as “a chosen servant of Christ, like the Prophet Daniel, wise in righteous judgment, steadfast in the faith, and a confessor of Divine Truth,” and conveyed “wishes for health, peace, and spiritual fulfilment.”
