On behalf of all clergy and faithful of our Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas I have the high privilege and distinct honor to offer our congratulations and best wishes to Your Eminence on your election as the Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. We pray that our Heavenly Father send His Holy Spirit to strengthen Your Eminence’s hand as you work in His vineyard.
Our world is becoming one of estrangement and alienation from God. We are challenged to renew our mission. We are called to find the right way of preaching the Gospel to our people and to the non-orthodox, to spread around the Good News of salvation through the Resurrection of our Lord. We look forward to our work together in the USA as we make the common mission of our Orthodox Church here flourish and our witness to God’s love resplendent.

Metropolitan of Bursa Elpidophoros was elected as the new Greek Orthodox Archbishop of America on Saturday, May 11.
The decision was taken in Phanar by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presiding over the meetings which were held between Thursday and Saturday.
Elpidoforos Lampriniadis was born in Istanbul, in 1967.
