Metropolitan Ioan of Banat urges faithful at the beginning of Dormition Fast not to forget the sick, suffering, and lonely

His Eminence Metropolitan Ioan of Banat has sent a message at the beginning of the Dormition Fast, urging everyone “not to forget those in tribulations and infirmities, those in sickness, suffering, sadness, and solitude, those in hospitals and at their homes, whom no one remembers or visit”.

The Metropolitan of Banat noted that “the fasting season of the Dormition of the Theotokos is a time established by the Church from old times to enhance the spiritual life and to draw us closer to God through virtue, under the direction of the Mother of God and the Mother of Light.”

HE Metr. Ioan urged the clergy to officiate every evening during the Dormition Fast the Supplicatory Canon to the Most Holy Theotokos.
