International Orthodox Christian Charities marks its 30th anniversary

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) celebrates this month 30 years of social-philanthropical service and assistance worldwide.

IOCC, located in Baltimore – Maryland (USA), is a humanitarian organization affiliated to the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the United States of America, which supports the communities affected by calamities and natural disasters.

International Orthodox Christian Charities is actively working in more than 60 countries. Today it focuses on five kinds of needs: emergency preparedness and response; health; water, sanitation, and hygiene; sustainable livelihoods; and agriculture and food security.

“It’s been IOCC’s honor and privilege to serve the Church across the globe for the last 30 years, striving to put our Orthodox Christian faith into action”, said Constantine Triantafilou, IOCC’s Executive Director and CEO.

In the last 30 years of activity, the programs and projects implemented by IOCC have contributed to the assistance of countless communities and people worldwide. Either through immediate support after a disaster or by building strong communities and economic independence by developing sustainable programs.

The Romanian Patriarchate works in partnership with IOCC since 2005, instructing more than 2,100 priests, religion teachers, and social assistants.

The Romanian Patriarchate and the Filantropia Federation have collaborated with IOCC for social programs such as: Together for better social services and the Territorial network of Christian suppliers of social services.
