Holy Synod urges the faithful for charity during Nativity Fast

Aurelian Iftimiu

The members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church urge the faithful and the clergy of the Romanian Patriarchate to organise, during the Nativity Fast, collection of money, food, clothes and medicine for disadvantaged families with many children, affected families, children in orphanages, elderly and sick people, lonely persons hospitalized in nursing homes and hospitals.

These charity actions must be organised within parishes, monasteries, deaneries and diocesan centres.

Given the current conditions of increasing secularization, the members of the Holy Synod advised Romanians, from home and abroad, to remain steadfast in the true faith and performing good deeds.
