In pictures: Metropolitan Laurențiu consecrates chapel for military students in Sibiu

The chapel of the Training School for Communications, Information Technology and Cyber Defense in Sibiu was consecrated on Thursday, September 16, 2021, following renovation works. The consecration was performed by His Eminence Metropolitan Laurențiu of Transylvania.

“Every time I step into a military unit, I feel a shiver and show my appreciation for the country’s Army”, the Metropolitan of Transylvania said after the consecration service.

“Being a soldier of Christ is an ideal that goes beyond personal desire and private interests and that is why we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for educating the young people you make, not only in the military field but also in the mystery of faith,” the metropolitan noted.

“The young fighter must have a creed. The priest and the soldier take an oath as a guarantee before God and those who are responsible for our education”, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurențiu highlighted.

On this occasion, the Metropolitan of Transylvania elevated the chapel’s priest to the rank of oikonomos and offered several distinctions to those who helped to renovate the place of worship.

The chapel where the military students from Sibiu come and pray is dedicated to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and to the Holy Archangel Gabriel.
