In 2023, Food Bank Moldova recovered food for 250,000 meals offered to the needy

In 2023, Bank of Food Moldova recovered more than 124,480 kg of foods. According to the standards of the European Food Banks Federation – FEBA, they represented 248,960 hot meals, which were distributed by 51 social services throughout the Republic of Moldova.

The number of beneficiaries assisted by these centres was approximately 5,000 socially vulnerable people.

The food recovered by Food Bank Moldova helps to diversify the daily menu in social centres, increases access to quality food for poor people and is an ecological act to protect against food waste.

“Thank you to everyone who is part of this chain of solidarity. Thank you to the people and teams who have joined in the #zerohunger #zerowaste act!” transmitted the representatives of Food Bank Moldova.

In the period 2022-2024, the activity of Food Bank Moldova is supported by the European Union, within the project “Partnerships for social canteen services”, co-financed and implemented by CONCORDIA Social Projects Moldova Association, Keystone Moldova and the Diaconia Social Mission of the Metropolis of Bessarabia.
