Extension projects at Mono Monastery in Canada: The monks kindly ask for the prayers of Orthodox Romanians

The Mono Monastery, in the Canadian province of Ontario, announced on Wednesday the completion of repairs done to the chapel roof and thanked all those who made it possible – Romanian Orthodox Bishop Ioan Casian and the benefactors. The monks also announced extension projects.

The small monastic community also transmitted they are about to get the authorization to add a multifunctional building to the property.

“Until we build a larger church, the monastery will use the chapel and also the pavilion to conduct its Holy Liturgical services throughout the year”, wrote Hieromonk Policarp Athenagoras on the monastery’s Facebook page.

“Please keep this important project in your prayers and thoughts”, added the monk.

The monastery is preparing for its main patronal feast, the Elevation of the Holy Cross, scheduled to be celebrated on Saturday, September 17, so as to allow as many Orthodox Romanians as possible to participate.
