Ecumenical Patriarchate: Election of Auxiliary Bishops for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Canada

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Canada joyously presents and transmits the official announcement of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate regarding the election of assistant (auxiliary) bishops.

ECUMENICAL PATRIARCHATE PRESS RELEASE

Under the presidency of His All-Holiness, the Ecumenical Patriarch, the Holy and Sacred Synod convened for its regular session, today, Thursday, February 13th, 2020, in order to examine and discuss items on its agenda.

During this meeting, at the request of His-All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the members of the Holy and Sacred Synod duly casted their votes in the Sacred Patriarchal Church, electing unanimously three Auxiliary Bishops under His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios of Canada. Specifically, those elected are V. Rev. Archimandrite Nektarios Mostratos, with the title Bishop of Keramon, the V. Rev. Archimandrite Alexander Salmas, with the title Bishop of Patara, and the V. Rev. Archimandrite Demetrios Antonopoulos with the title Bishop of Zenoupolis.
