Divine Liturgy, Hymns on Lazarus Saturday chanted by Tronos Choir available on Spotify

Selected hymns from the Divine Liturgy and Lazarus Saturday chanted by the famous Tronos Choir of the Romanian Patriarchate are now available on Spotify.

The Lazarus Saturday album includes two hymns in Arabic: ‘Having secretly received the command’ (Akathist to the Theotokos), and ‘My soul, my soul’ (kondakion in the Great Canon).

The hymns chanted in Romanian include katavasies and megalinarion for Palm Sunday, Hymn of Kassiani, Alleluia, and other.

The Byzantine Choir Tronos was established in 1997 at the initiative of Archdeacon Mihail Bucă, the protopsaltes of the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest.

The name of Tronos was bestowed by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel in 2007 and it is linked to the title given by the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the Patriarch of Romania as Locum tenens of the Throne of Caesarea of Cappadocia.

Tronos is one of the most appreciated male choirs in Romania, being involved in the development and promotion of Byzantine music on the territory of our country.

Conducted by its founder, Archdeacon Mihail Bucă, the group performed at concerts on many stages, in cathedrals and churches, at home and abroad.
