The Romanian Orthodox Youth of the Americas Association (ROYA) announces the first Youth Conference of all parishes of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of the Americas on October 6-9, 2017 (arrival October 6 in the afternoon, leaving October 9 at noon). That weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada and Columbus Day in the USA. Both Hierarchs of our Metropolis, Met. Nicolae and Bp. Ioan Casian, will be present.

The theme of the Conference will be “Challenges of the Christian Youth in the 21st Century”. The main speaker will be Virgiliu Gheorghe, biophysicist and PhD in bioethics, vice-president of the Institute of Psychosocial Research and Bioethics Bucharest, coordinator of the scientific section of the Orthodox Family magazine and author of several volumes, including “The Effects of Television on the Human Mind” and “Pornography, 21st Century Disease”. The schedule will include workshops on various themes, as well as an administrative sesssion on the organization of ROYA.
