Chorus of the Lord’s Army Association of Sibiu Carolled the Patriarch of Romania

On 19 December 2012, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel was carolled by the chorus of the Lord’s Army Association of Sibiu. Its members performed traditional Transylvanian carols and New Year’s wishes.

In the speech delivered, the Patriarch of Romania spoke about the importance of keeping our ancient traditions.

“We are glad because we listened to your carols and because you came from such a long distance to carol here and show us such a diversity of carols and new spiritual meanings so that we are glad that the city of Sibiu keeps the tradition of creativity. There are both traditional and new carols.

We are glad because a special activity is developed in the Archdiocese of Sibiu from a pastoral missionary point of view and because the Lord’s Army Association is one of the Orthodox spiritual forces faithful to the Orthodox tradition which continues the Christian life, especially a Christian stable life in the family. Family has a special importance in the Lord’s Army Association just like the spiritual values of prayer, of moderation and fraternity named now inter-aiding or fraternity. We congratulate you for your young impetus, missionary zeal and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year that only God can bring as happiness and the Holy Feast of the Baptism of the Lord be light in your homes, souls, and around you”, said His Beatitude, as Trinitas Radio station informs us.

To end with, the chorus members received presents on behalf of the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
