Bucharest Russian Orthodox Community celebrates feast of St Seraphim of Sarov

St Nicholas – Tabacu Church in Bucharest celebrated the feast of Saint Seraphim of Sarov on January 2, being the only church in the capital city of Romania where the Saint’s holy relics can be venerated.

Many Romanian and Russian Orthodox believers on Wednesday attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated in honour of St Seraphim, one of the most renowned Orthodox elder of the 19th century.

The reliquary enshrined at St Nicholas Church was offered to Patriarch Daniel in October 2017 by His Beatitude Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia during his visit to Romania occasioned by the feast of St Demetrius the New, Protector of Bucharest.

St Nicholas – Tabacu Church is the spiritual home of the Russian Orthodox community in Bucharest.
