His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus underwent a successful operation on Tuesday night in London, reports orthodoxia.info.

The surgery began at a London clinic around 6 PM on Tuesday to remove two small tumors on His Beatitude’s liver by laparoscopic surgery.

According to the first reports, doctors say they are satisfied with the outcome of the operation, and Abp. Chrysostomos is now recovering in the clinic.

His Beatitude recently publicly announced that he has been battling cancer since the beginning of the summer.
