Blessing of the Museum of the Patriarchal Residence

Today, 20 May 2014, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church blessed the Museum of the Patriarchal Residence. Hierarchs, members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church and servant priests of the Patriarchal Cathedral attended the blessing service.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel delivered a speech in which he said: “This museum was first set up by the worthy remembering Patriarch Iustin in the study that belonged to the worthy remembering Patriarch Iustinian. Having been close to the entrance it was more adequate as a museum than a study. Time left its imprint, and the exhibits were not visible enough, so that we decided to reorganise it in chronological order and clean the objects to be exhibited, to complete them and light the show cases to emphasise the characteristic aspect of every mitre, vestment and cloak.

The museum exhibits objects of rite, medals and personal things of the pastoral activity of the five Patriarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
