Austrian Ambassador to Romania, Isabel Rauscher, meets with Patriarch Daniel

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel welcomed Friday, September 21, 2018, Her Excellency the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Austria to Romania, Isabel Rauscher, at his patriarchal residence in Bucharest.

Ambassador Isabel Rauscher thanked the Romanian Patriarch for the warm welcome and expressed her admiration for Romania’s beauty and the kindheartedness of Romanians.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel noted the Ambassador’s rich diplomatic experience and wished her a successful mission in Bucharest.

During the talks, important themes were addressed including the difficult situation in Syria, migration in Europe, and the social and cultural changes the European continent is facing.

The Patriarch added that the third Romanian Orthodox Church is currently being built in Vienna, which will serve the needs of the large Romanian community in the Austrian capital.

In addition, His Beatitude recalled that the Basilica Travel Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate includes many of Austria’s important religious sights in the pilgrimage programs organized in Western Europe.
