Archbishop Demetrios receives the visit of Abbott Ephraim of the Vatopedi Monastery

The Abbott of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi in Mount Athos, Archimandrite Ephraim visited on October 5 the offices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America în New York.

Archimandrite Ephraim had a cordial meeting with His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios Geron of America, reports Greek Orthodox Archidiochese of America.

Following the meeting Abbott Ephraim presented to the Archbishop on behalf of the Vatopedi Monastery, an archieratical engolpion and pectoral cross.

His Eminence gave to the visiting Abbott a four-volume bilingual Harvard edition of all the letters St. Basil the Great, and a set of other books for the library of the Monastery.

Immediately after, Abbott Ephraim and his entourage visited the chapel of the Archdiocese and viewed objects and relics from the church of St. Nicholas in Ground Zero, destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001.
