Archbishop Irineu blesses new Church-run kindergarten in Alba Iulia ahead of autumn opening

On Monday, Archbishop Irineu of Alba Iulia blessed the new “Clopoțel” Kindergarten, a preschool education institution built under the archdiocese’s care between 2022 and 2025 and set to open in the autumn of 2025.

His Eminence highlighted the Church’s ongoing care for children and their families, describing the project as educational and missionary.

“Through this educational and missionary effort, we aim to promote moral principles in the early education of future generations and to stand close to young Christian families.”

“Referring to the importance of children in our lives, Christ Himself urges us to imitate them in purity of heart and soul. In doing so, we gain spiritual beauty. As Saint John of Kronstadt said: Flowers are only symbols of beauty, but the soul of a child is living divine beauty,” said Archbishop Irineu.

Modern Facilities and Spiritual Care

The kindergarten is equipped with:

  • Modern classrooms
  • A dining hall meeting sanitary and hygiene standards
  • Comfortable nap rooms
  • A prayer chapel
  • A medical office
  • A large, well-equipped outdoor playground

Children will benefit from time spent outdoors in a safe and nurturing environment.
