According to a press release issued by the Ecumenical Patriarchate on Monday, the Holy Synod approved the report of the Canonical Committee regarding the inclusion into the calendar of the Orthodox Church of the Blessed Archimandrite Iakovos Tsalikis, originally from Asia Minor, the abbot of the Monastery of David the Elder, establishing as a commemoration date on November 22 of each year.

On 21 November 2017, exactly 26 years have passed since the blessed falling sleep of the Holy Elder Iakovos Tsalikis, who lived at the Holy Monastery of Saint David the Elder of Evia.
