Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese launches ‘Warm Hearts’ Support Programme for families in UK

The Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has launched the “Warm Hearts” project through its Social and Philanthropic Department in response to the multiple challenges faced by Romanian families across the diocese.

The programme is being implemented in partnership with institutions serving the Romanian community in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, including the Romanian Consulates General in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Through the “Warm Hearts” initiative, the Archdiocese aims to convey a clear message: no one should face life’s difficulties alone.

One of the project’s priority areas is the prevention and combating of domestic violence.

The initiative also seeks to support pregnant women who are experiencing a lack of family support, financial hardship or other pressures that may affect their emotional well-being and capacity for discernment.

The programme promotes access to counselling services and practical assistance, reaffirming the sacred value of every human life and the importance of supporting mothers in vulnerable situations.

How the Programme Works

According to the Archdiocese, individuals facing difficulties are encouraged to contact the parish nearest to their place of residence, where priests are prepared to offer support and guidance.

The diocese has made available a list of contact details for parishes and institutions able to assist those in need.

Through the “Warm Hearts” project, the Archdiocese aims to develop a network of support and solidarity dedicated to serving individuals, families and the Romanian community throughout the United Kingdom.
