A Romanian Orthodox parish in Northampton, central England, has launched a fundraising campaign to purchase its own place of worship as its growing congregation seeks a permanent home.
The Romanian Orthodox Parish of the Entry of the Mother of God into the Temple currently holds services in an Anglican church made available for its use, but which remains outside the parish’s ownership.
Steady community growth and the increasing number of worshippers have prompted parish leaders to seek a permanent space capable of meeting the community’s pastoral and missionary needs.
An opportunity has emerged to purchase a Methodist church currently for sale, together with an adjoining community complex that includes rooms for educational and cultural activities, facilities for Sunday School and youth meetings, a dining hall and other amenities needed to support active parish life.
The property is valued at approximately £600,000, and the time available to complete the acquisition is limited.
For this reason, the Parish Council, together with Fr Florin Simionca and members of the community, are inviting all those who wish to support the initiative to contribute through donations, prayer and moral support.
