Bishop Nectarie of Ireland and Iceland celebrated on Sunday the first Divine Liturgy at the emerging parish in Balbriggan, Ireland, according to a statement received by the editorial office.
“Today Christ is present here among you and gathers us around Himself. A community is not built only of walls, but especially of the faith and love of those who make it up,” said Bishop Nectarie.
“I urge you to keep this flame alive, not to let routine or the cares of the world extinguish your longing for God.”
“Each of you has a role in the Body of Christ. Even the smallest act of service, even a prayer said from the heart, contributes to the growth of the Church. Be living, active members, and God will strengthen your steps,” he added.

In conclusion, the hierarch offered a message of hope for the future of the new Romanian Orthodox community.
“With the help of the Lord and His Mother, this parish will grow and become a place where your children will learn the faith, where you will find comfort, and where you will be able to give thanks for the blessings you have received,” the bishop said.
“Remain anchored in prayer and in brotherly love, and God will bless you with abundant fruits.”
The ministry in this community began a few months ago through the care and involvement of local faithful, as well as with the direct support of Father Raul Simion and the serving priests from the parish of “Saint George the Great Martyr” and “Saint Columba” in Blanchardstown (Dublin 15).
Balbriggan is located in Fingal, about 46 kilometres north of Dublin, the capital of Ireland. Liturgical activities are held in the Anglican Church in Balbriggan.
