Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate opens St. John Chrysostom Bible Study Center in Lugoj

The blessing service for the new Bible study center, dedicated to St. John Chrysostom, was held in mid-October. Fr. Petru Rosoca, dean of Lugoj, led the service, which several Ukrainian and Romanian Orthodox priests joined.

This center was established at the request of the faithful who attended the Orthodox Joy Camp for Adults in late August. According to a Facebook post by the Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate, they expressed a desire to reconnect in a spiritual setting until the next camp.

The center operates within the Ukrainian Orthodox Deanery of Lugoj, located in the basement of the administrative building. It aims to inspire participants to understand the Holy Scriptures correctly and recognize that Orthodox teaching is rooted in the Bible.

“We hope to organize additional events, such as spiritual conferences and meetings with professionals like doctors, psychologists, and psychotherapists, who can help participants find guidance and hope concerning family and relationship issues prevalent in society, as well as challenges posed by harmful addictions affecting many of our faithful from a young age,” stated Hieromonk Nicolae Danco on Facebook.

The Vicariate noted that study sessions, conducted in Romanian, will take place at Memorandumului Street, No. 4, Lugoj, welcoming all who wish to learn Orthodox teachings through Scripture.

The first meeting of the St. John Chrysostom Bible Study Center is scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
