500 Bible editions go on display in Timisoara

During the month of April, people in Timisoara have the opportunity to glimpse a collection of 500 Bibles in multiple languages and dimensions.

The exhibition titled The Museum of the Bible was opened on Tuesday, April 2, at the Theresian Bastion in Timisoara in the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Ioan of Banat.

The 500 bibles belong to Pastor Ionel Tutac, the President of Revival of Family Association, a Christian non-profit organization promoting ‘the freely consented marriage between a man and a woman as thought by the Creator, supporting the family from a spiritual, legislative, cultural and humanitarian point of view.’

Attendees included the mayor of Timisoara, Mr. Nicolae Robu, and Calin Dobra, the President of the Timis County Council.

‘This event has the blessing of heaven,’ Metropolitan Ioan said.

‘More than 500 Bibles can be seen in different tongues of the earth. We can also observe in how many languages God listens to our prayers uttered here on earth,’ His Eminence noted.

The Bible does not have to be a museum exhibit

This event took place following the organizers’ desire to promote the Holy Scripture and to underline its influence in history, art, music, and especially in our personal life.

‘We have set up this museum in order to underscore that the Bible should not be a museum exhibit, but must be read, studied and applied in everyday life,’ Ionel Tutac said.

The bible exhibition will run until April 25, 2019, and will host meetings and debates with theology professors, priests, Bible scholars, and writers.

Partners for the Bible museum included the Orthodox Metropolis of Banat, the Timis County Council, the County’s School Inspectorate, and Christian associations in Timisoara.
