Patriarch Daniel offers St Paraskeva’s vestment to Bulgarian Patriarchate

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel offered Tuesday, September 11, a vestment with which the holy relics of Saint Paraskeva were clothed to a representative of the Bulgarian Patriarchate.

Saint Paraskeva’s vestment, received from Metropolitan Teofan of Moldavia and Bukovina, was handed over to His Eminence Metropolitan Naum of Ruse at the St George Chapel of the Patriarchal Residence in Bucharest.

The holy relic will be enshrined in the old church “Saint Paraskeva”, located at the basement of the Metropolitan building of Sofia, Bulgaria.

The Patriarch of Romania also presented Metr. Naum with a blessing cross.

Metropolitan Naum conveyed the gratitude of the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte for the offering of St Paraskeva’s vestment.

The hierarch noted that many churches in Bulgaria are dedicated to Saint Paraskeva.

Prior to the bestowing of gifts, Patriarch Daniel held talks with the Metropolitan of Ruse at Patriarch Teoctist Hall of his residence.

The two parts discussed current issues regarding the life of the Romanian Orthodox Church and its response to the challenges of society.

It is noteworthy that Metropolitan Naum led the Bulgarian delegation at the International Meeting of Orthodox Youth (ITO 2018) that took place on Sept. 6-9 in Sibiu.
