Austria: 10 years of Romanian Orthodox ministry in Feldkirch

Austria: Parohia din Feldkirch împlinește 10 ani de la înființare

The Romanian Orthodox Parish of the Nativity of the Lord in Feldkirch, Austria, celebrated Sunday, 11 December 2016, its 10th anniversary since the first Divine Liturgy was officiated. His Eminence Serafim, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Germany, Central and Northern Europe, participated in the festive events.

Metropolitan Serafim celebrated Sunday the anniversary Divine Liturgy.

In his homily, His Eminence focused on the importance of prayer, fasting, and of participating in the Divine Liturgy. Referring to the gospel reading, Metropolitan Serafim said that there are many faithful even today, who find excuses not to participate at the Dinner of the Lord, at the Divine Liturgy. He continued by urging the faithful to confess more often and, having the blessing of the spiritual father, to unite with Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

The local feast concluded with an agape meal, during which traditional Christmas carols were sung.

The Romanian Orthodox parish of the Nativity of the Lord received much support from the evangelical parish in Feldkirch. For this reason, as a sign of gratitude, Metropolitan Serafim Saturday presented Pastor Barbara Wedam a diploma of merit.
