{"id":90197,"date":"2014-02-13T19:06:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-13T17:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=90197"},"modified":"2016-03-25T21:18:01","modified_gmt":"2016-03-25T19:18:01","slug":"the-holy-synod-reiterates-the-position-concerning-the-definition-in-the-romanian-constitution-of-the-family-based-on-the-marriage-between-a-man-and-a-woman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/the-holy-synod-reiterates-the-position-concerning-the-definition-in-the-romanian-constitution-of-the-family-based-on-the-marriage-between-a-man-and-a-woman\/","title":{"rendered":"The Holy Synod Reiterates the Position Concerning the Definition in the Romanian Constitution of the Family Based on the Marriage between a Man and a Woman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> On 13 February 2014, the first working session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church of this year was held in the Synodal Hall of the Patriarchal Residence under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.<\/p>\n<p> We mention some of the decisions adopted:<\/p>\n<p> -The Holy Synod approved the programme of the manifestations organised at national level by the Romanian Patriarchate in 2014 which the Holy Synod proclaimed as <em>Commemorative year of the Brancoveans Saints Martyrs,<\/em> at the commemoration of 300 years since their martyr\u2019s death (1714 \u2013 2014);<\/p>\n<p> -In the perspective of the Parliamentarian debates concerning the project for changing the Romanian Constitution, the Holy Synod reiterates their position concerning the definition in the basic bill of the <strong>family based on the marriage free consented <em>between a man and a woman<\/em>, on their equal status and on the rights and duties of the parents to provide the raising, education, and training of their children<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<p> -Following the invitation of His Holiness Bartholomew, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, the Holy Synod approved the participation of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, in the <em>Synaxis of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches concerning the preparation of the Pan-Orthodox Synod <\/em>(Constantinople, 5-9 March 2014);<\/p>\n<p> -The Holy Synod took notice with joy of the signing by the Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Patriarch of Romania of the <em>Patriarchal Agreement for re-establishing the full church communion between the two Patriarchates<\/em>;<\/p>\n<p> -The Holy Synod expresses the compassion of the Romanian Orthodox Church for the Syrian Christians in distress, and decided as a sign of solidarity to help them <em>organising fund raising in the churches and monasteries of the Romanian Patriarchate on the first three Sundays after the feast of the Holy Easter (27 April, 4 and 11 May 2014)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRESS OFFICE OF THE ROMANIAN PATRIARCHATE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 13 February 2014, the first working session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church of this year was held in the Synodal Hall of the Patriarchal Residence under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
